Aloha,

Church on the Go Inc. (COTG) has been hosting a Christmas Block Party every year for the past 24 years (cancelled in 2020 and 2021 due to pandemic rules).  This year, the 24th Annual Christmas Block Party is being held on Sunday, December 15, 2024.   It is free for the homeless and shelter kids of Maui with their family.

Individuals, businesses, bike, and car clubs have been instrumental in gathering donations and toys so that every child receives a gift.  A delicious catered holiday lunch is also provided by the church, so that the children and their families can enjoy a hot meal. If you feel it in your heart to donate time, gifts or financial assistance please use the enclosed form on the flier and mail back to us (or bring with you when you drop off donations) or call President Joe Pluta at 808-661-7990.

If you know someone that would benefit from this event, please invite them to attend.  Gifts for the children, and free entertainment, lunch, fun and fellowship for children and their family.

Together we all come together to bring a smile to the children who otherwise would not have a Christmas meal or celebration.

Once again, we thank you for recognizing our community’s need and your continuing support of the Church on the Go, Inc and its ministry.

Malama Pono ame Mahalo!

With warm aloha,

Love & prayers

9/1/2023

Our love and prayers go out to Maui, especially West Maui, as fires in Lahaina & Kula.   As we navigate the road to recovery, we send our prayers and aloha to all who lost homes, lives of loved ones, and those still searching.

Please note that Church on the Go office has also burned down, but we are safe.  We thank those who have donated to the Church, and we apologize if on tax-deductible letters as they may take a while to get to you as we work on getting a temporary office up and running .

Please know that as the Church continues its mission in the community, we are not managing any funds to be distributed to the community - we do not have the resources to do so. We are accepting general donations to continue our mission within our community, in addition to helping those affected by the fire as best as we can.  We appreciate any donation you are called to make to Church on the go.

There are many established organizations who are distributing to the community - please donate to them if you wish for it to go directly to the affected members. If you wish to contribute to the people who have lost homes many have GoFund Me accounts, Venmo accounts.  Members of the community has created google doc of families and Instagram asking for help (please beware of scams)

As always, any organization or person you wish to donate to please do your due diligence.

Giving Tuesday!

12/2/2019

Aloha kākou!

GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement, unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and their world. GivingTuesday will kick off the generosity season this year by inspiring people to give back on Tuesday, December 3rd, and throughout the year.

GivingTuesday was launched in 2012 as a simple idea:  to create a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past seven years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

People demonstrate generosity in many ways on GivingTuesday. Whether it’s helping a neighbor or stranger out, showing up for an issue or people we care about, or giving to causes we care about, every act of generosity counts. GivingTuesday has raised billions of dollars for critical causes around the world.

"GivingTuesday inspires people all around the world to embrace their power to drive progress around the causes they care about, not just on one day but throughout the year." said Asha Curran, GivingTuesday’s CEO, and co-founder. "With country and community leaders, millions of organizations, and countless givers of all kinds, GivingTuesday is creating a shared space where we can see the radical implications of a more generous world."

Those who are interested in joining Church on the Go GivingTuesday initiative can visit our website for information about the church and a link to the Paypal link for donations – www.ChurchOnTheGo.us

For more details about the GivingTuesday movement, visit the GivingTuesday website (www.givingtuesday.org), Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/GivingTuesday) or follow @GivingTuesday and #GivingTuesday on Twitter. For youth interested in joining the movement, visit GivingTuesdayKids.org for inspiration and project ideas.

We look forward to your engagement with this giving movement as we i mua kakou i ka makahiki hou.
